The Great Malvern Festival of Stories for Children is coming back to Malvern this year from 21st-26th October 2025 and we're taking part! 

Children are invited create a book cover for a particular title according to their age group - see below. Every entry will be displayed in the gallery for the duration of the festival. We will have an awards event on Saturday 25th October.

Rules

1.Entries must be entirely the work of the child taking part.

2. Only one entry per child.

3. The book-cover design must be created on a single sheet of A5 plain paper (of any colour) and can be in portrait or landscape layout.

4. Any media can be used.

5. The design must include the book title for their age group as follows;

KS1 - The Enchanted Wood

KS2 - How to Train Your Dragon

KS3 - If Only

5. The Original copy must be delivered to Aetheria Gallery & Studio by Wednesday 22nd October 2025.

6. Cost of entry is £1, payable on delivery of the artwork.

7. Contact details must be included with each entry - do NOT put these on the back of the artwork as the reverse can be seen when on display.

8. Each child that attends the awards event will get a free goody bag. 

9. You'll note that the titles are from well known books (Enid Blyton, Cressida Cowell) and the title 'If Only' is written by local 15 year old author, Bethany Lunney. Children will receive an additional something in their goody bag if they have read the relevant book, however, they may create an artwork for the book or use their imagination to create an artwork for a new book using the same title. We'd like children to be as imaginative as possible with their designs.
