He studied Fine Art at the University of Gloucestershire and Cardiff School of Art & Design, graduating with a BA(Hons) in Sculpture. While still a student, Ed was selected for his first international exhibition in New York City.
In 2010, Ed completed a postgraduate apprenticeship in New Zealand, followed by a UK residency exploring the relationship between urban and rural art. He has worked full-time as an artist ever since.
His breakthrough came in 2012 when The National Trust commissioned Greer, Guardian Angel, a monumental winged sculpture for Mottisfont Abbey. Carved from London Plane, the work received national media attention and was acquired for a prestigious UK collection alongside pieces by Antony Gormley and Elisabeth Frink.
Subsequent commissions include major public works for The National Trust at Hughenden Manor and Ashridge Estate, as well as installations at London’s Southbank Tower and Chelsea Waterfront. In 2020, Greer, Guardian Angel was awarded ‘Sculpture of the Year’ at Cotswold Sculpture Park and featured at RHS Rosemoor.
Ed has both cold cast bronze, wood and bronze work in Aetheria.
