Lesley Brankin is a painter and multi-award-winning textile artist whose passion for mark-making lies at the heart of her creative process. She draws inspiration from moments captured during her travels and everyday life, often recorded through photographs or quick sketchbook studies.
Her artistic response often begins with simple lines, shapes, or stitches - gestures that provide structure and spark the evolution of each piece. Rather than aiming for realism, she seeks to convey the essence of a subject through an intuitive use of paint, ink, and stitch to provide colour, texture, and shape.
She blends techniques across a range disciplines including painting, textiles, and printmaking to achieve depth and originality in her work. She has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally. Based in Malvern, her practice continues to evolve as she pushes the boundaries of traditional media and explores new creative possibilities.
